from www.dictionary.com: dod·der (intr.v.)
- To shake or tremble, as from old age; totter - To progress in a feeble, unsteady manner.
dod'der·er (n.) - one who dodders
After coming second by a "neck" in 2009 the Dods were determined to do better this year under the leadership of new boat skipper Hilly.
After a poor showing in the first heat we recruited Cookie from an even poorer Rotary boat - and surprisingly our results improved - despite the novelty white Rastafarian tea cosy he chose to wear.....
Some last minute paddle technique coaching from our helmsman.... then it's off to the start
Poor coordination evident here - the left of the boat is way ahead of the right!
.... but at least we take the heat.....

After finishing third in the heats we qualified for the semis - and were delighted to see last year's winners "Mission Impossible" fail to qualify for the final in the first semi! Clearly winning five times was indeed a "Mission Impossible"! We won the second semi so it was final time for us again!
With most of us feeling we had not done enough in the final it was a tense wait for the result... then euphoria as Cardiff University Students Union were announced in second place - and we had WON!!
Boat Skipper Hilly and Club Captain Pat receive the Golden Trophy from the Mayor
Congratulations to all who took part - and especially to drummer and new Dodderer Toby Hill - seen holding the trophy aloft - who kept us in time and on track for victory!
Another chapter in Doddering history is written!
